Close view of the altar, the ambo, and the old altar.
The altar in the foreground is used only for the Eucharist.
The ambo is used almost exclusively for scripture readings. Generally, the homily is delivered from in front of the altar, and announcements are read from the presidential chair to the right of the altar.
The tabernacle on the original altar is still used.
The large painting in the center of the original altar is St. Agnes, a young woman who was martyred because she refused to surrender her virginity to a lecherous nobleman.
The statues (from left to right) are St. Patrick, St. Ann, St. Joseph, and St. Rocco, and they have a story.
The design that runs around the entire opening of the sanctuary is a three dimensional version of the original decor design found on the wall above the vigil lights.
