Home Cookin'
Extra Fine acoustic blues, bluegrass, country, and folk music
Larry, Joe and Ben at work.
Home Cookin’ played American roots music ... a mix of acoustic blues, bluegrass, country, rockabilly, and folk music. The group featured Joe Bella on vocals, acoustic guitar, and National Steel guitar, and Ben Margolis on violin and viola, with me on upright bass.

Joe Bella, from Lexington Kentucky, played guitar and banjo for labor union rallies throughout the south and mid-west with The Knights of Labor Union Band. In Chicago, he has been a regular at the Old Town School of Folk Music, and has been guest host of it’s Mr. Coffee House on numerous occasions.

Ben Margolis has been concertmaster of the Harvard-Radcliffe and the University of Chicago Orchestras, and has played in Carnegie Hall and in the Kennedy Center with the New York String Orchestra. He is equally comfortable in the world of folk, rock, and blues.
