 Templates
The Microsoft Excel workbook files are designed as master templates.    Items appearing in red on the Entry worksheet, the first worksheet in the workbook,  may be changed.   Raw absorbance data is also placed in the Entry worksheet.  The values from the Entry worksheet are then used by the other worksheets in the workbook.

1. Open the workbook in Excel.  We suggest saving a copy of the original workbook files in folder:
C:\Program Files\Customized Applications\ELISA Calc Lite\dat

2. Create a  "working template" by  changing long lived data items, such as the kit lot number, and the concentration of material in standards and controls.   

Some assays use identical plate layouts and calculations, but with different material names.  For example, the only difference between single antigen workbooks for ssDNA and dsDNA are the material names.  We suggest making a "working template" for each of the different materials.

When the working template is ready,

Make sure the cursor is positioned in cell A1 of the Entry worksheet.  

Save a copy of the working template in a folder of your choice.

You should revise the working templates as new kits arrive with different lot numbers and possibly different standards concentrations.

 General Instructions
When ELISA Calc Lite starts, it launches a copy of Microsoft Excel.  When you are ready to perform an analysis:

Open the desired working template, the one with the "long lived data", in the Excel window that was launched by ELISA Calc Lite,
Ensure the cursor is in well A1 of the Entry worksheet
Use the Reader button on ELISA Calc Lite to collect the raw absorbances.
You may edit items that appear in red on the Entry worksheet.
Verify the names of the tests, the lot numbers, and the concentrations of materials in standards and controls.
Enter the sample ID's.
If you use reports 2 and 3, enter the patient names, physician names, institution names, etc.
If any wells were diluted, enter the dilution factors.  N.B.  Standards may never be diluted.
Save the workbook under a new name.
View and print desired reports.  Most reports can be printed directly from Microsoft Excel.
To print reports Sample 2 or Sample 3, select the ELISA Calc Lite File menu, the Reports .... option.

 Files Included in ELISA Calc Lite

ANA6A       
Six antigens (ssDNA, dsDNA, Sm, RNP/Sm, SSA, SSB) on a single plate for each of 9 samples.  Each antigen has a standard, a positive control and a negative control. Results are calculated using a y=mx slope algorithm.    (ANA6A.xls  100 KB)   


Eight antigens (ssDNA, dsDNA, Sm, RNP/Sm, SSA, SSB, Histone, SCL-70) on a single plate for each of 5 samples.  Each antigen has a standard, a positive control and a negative control. Results are calculated using a y=mx slope algorithm.   (ANA8A.xls  100 KB)  


ANA8AE       
ANA8A - Extended.  Uses all wells for patient tests.   Standards and controls must come  from an ANA8A reading    (ANA6AE.xls  100 KB)  


One antigen for 45 samples.  Uses a single standard, a positive control and a negative control.  The current title, ssDNA, may be easily changed.   Results are calculated using a y=mx slope algorithm.   (SAG.xls  100 KB)
